Installation

1. Download the ZIP above (one file, contains everything).
2. Extract it anywhere outside Program Files, e.g. C:GamesMabronRO. Windows otherwise blocks writing to the folder and the game can’t save settings.
3. Run MabronRO.exe – that’s the launcher (patcher), not the game itself. Every time you start it, it checks for updates, quietly downloads any it finds, and only then lets you into the game via the Play button. Never start ro-ultimweb.exe directly – you’d skip updates, and the game may misbehave or the server may reject you.
4. Log in with your game login and password from registration (not your e-mail). Pick the MabronRO server, create a character and play.

What you need

• Windows 10 / 11. On Linux the client runs via Wine/Proton, on Mac via Wine or Parallels.
• 8 GB of free space (4 GB archive + 4 GB extracted client; delete the archive afterwards).
• Any computer from the last 15 years. Ragnarok is from 2002, it runs on nostalgia, not on graphics cards.

Common issues

Not sure which file to run. Always MabronRO.exe in the game folder – it’s the launcher that handles updates and then starts the game for you. ro-ultimweb.exe is the game itself and gets started automatically by the launcher; Setup.exe is only for manually setting resolution and graphics, and is run separately, only when needed.

Antivirus flags ro-ultimweb.exe or MabronRO.exe. The client is modified to connect to our server instead of the Korean one, and the launcher is the open-source rpatchur, some antivirus products flag that. It’s a false positive; verify the archive SHA-256 above and add the game folder to exceptions.

The game crashes on start / wrong resolution. Run Setup.exe in the game folder and set resolution and graphics. If that doesn’t help, right-click ro-ultimweb.exe → Properties → Compatibility → Run as administrator.

“Failed to connect to server”. The server is down (see the status on the home page) or a firewall is blocking you. The client needs outgoing TCP ports 6900, 6121, 5121 and 8888.

“Rejected from server” at login. Make sure you’re launching through MabronRO.exe (the launcher) and not directly, so you’re definitely on the latest version. If it still happens, download the client again from here.

Korean characters instead of text. data/clientinfo.xml is missing or you extracted only part of the archive. Extract the whole ZIP again.
